GETTING MARRIED -- TO A WOMAN

Just so you don't think Michelle (Letters, January, 2009) was a one-off,
I am a pre-op M2F woman who is going to be married to my fiance -- a woman
-- next month. I met her in October of last year and I was open and honest
with her from the beginning. When I asked her to marry me, she said she
would because she knew she wouldn't be getting a husband but rather a
wife. Because of legal, family and societal issues, I'm waiting until
after the wedding before beginning my transition.
It's hard enough being TS; try being a TS lesbian in a world where both sides -- straight and gay -- are locked into the binary gender model. Most straight women don't accept me, while most lesbians are openly hostile towards women like me.
All I want is to be accepted for who I am: a middle-aged woman who is about to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming my true love's bride and wife.
Still, it would be nice to have more resources for other women like Michelle and me. Thank you for your time.

Hi,
I came upon your site while surfing the Web and discovered that I had been looking on the wrong sites if I wanted to meet that special TS. I have a TS friend and we chat now and then. She lives in another country, a lovely lady and a good person, and she keeps telling me that I will meet that special one. But I discovered TSgirlfriend and it is really nice.
It is a joy to read all the information you provide and it is very helpful. I am a straight guy and not interested in one-night stands and other weird stuff. Just a LTR with a good woman by his side. I am new at your site and if my profile is accepeted, I know I will find the right lady. You have an awsome site.
